The KAUST Fellowship is the general scholarship program of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

All Master's and Ph.D. students admitted to KAUST will also be evaluated for financial support under the KAUST Fellowship. If awarded, the KAUST Fellowship supports students for the duration of their graduate studies. The benefits of the KAUST Fellowship include:

Monthly living allowance (ranging between $20,000-30,000 annual, depending on qualifications and progression through degree programs)

Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies – Hamad Bin Khalifa University opens
scholarship for academic year 2013-2014.

Offered Programs:
1. Master of Arts in Islamic Studies with a Specialization in
Contemporary Fiqh .
2. Master of Arts in Islamic Studies with a Specialization in
Comparative Religions.
3. Master of Arts in Public Policy in Islam.
4. Master of Science in Islamic Finance .
5. Master of Science in Urban Design and Architecture in Islamic Societies .
6. Master of Arts in the Study of Contemporary Muslim Societies.

7. Postgraduate Diploma Islamic Finance.
8. Postgraduate Diploma in General Islamic Studies .
9. Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy in Islam

Minimum Admission Criteria for international students:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum
Grade of VERY GOOD or its equivalent; (the student should submit the
Final Degree Certificate that shows her final average)

• A TOEFL score of 550 or ILETS score of 6.0 (exception for native
English speaker)

• All students admitted to QFIS programs are required to pass the
Arabic Test (80%).

• Writing 2 short essays:

1. essay_why you would like to study in your chosen program (in English)

2. essay_how Islamic Studies can impact your lifecareer (in Arabic)
Note:
Any Arabic essays written or translated using google translate or any
translation programs shall be rejected and dismissed directly.

• Call Interview (Tele-conversation) to all abroad students admitted
to ensure they can speak Arabic prior the final admission decision
made.

Admitted students are requested to certify their documents before
their arrival to Qatar, otherwise their registration will be
cancelled.

Ministry of Higher Education where Certificate was delivered, and: The
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin, and Qatar
Embassy of that country

PhD PostDoc dalam studi Higher Education universitas di Eropa (UK, Denmark, Prancis, Slovenia)


Six European universities will join forces to educate young researchers who will be examining the university reforms currently influencing the global university development. This will be part of the new internationalUniversities in the Knowledge Economy (UNIKE) project. The project is supported by the EU's Marie Curie Actions Fellowship Programme and will be running over five years - from 2013 to 2017.
The UNIKE project will train a networked group of critical researchers who will examine the changing roles and scope of universities in emerging global knowledge economies. They will also compare developments in Europe and the Asia-Pacific Rim. The project will comprise 12 new PhD projects and 2 postdoc projects and is currently open. Applicants from all countries are eligible for the positions.
The 12 individual doctoral projects focus on the following topics:
  • ASEM meetings and HE ‘policy travel’ from Europe to Asia
  • Internationalisation of higher education in centres and peripheries
  • Conjunction of Chinese and Western educational traditions in the design and teaching of Sino-Danish Centre courses
  • Academic values between globalisation and globalism
  • Models of doctoral education
  • Mapping the field of higher education industries, and choosing case studies
  • Audit culture and the Industries of ranking
  • Think Tanks and Academic Entrepreneurs in the Production of Knowledg
  • Impact of governance changes on the educational categories and internal life of universities
  • Alternative forms of university ownership, finance and organisation
  • Governance through Autonomy – A context-rich comparative study.
  • Management and gender
The two 2 individual post-doctoral projects are to address the following:
  • New landscapes of publishing and knowledge dissemination
  • Academic entrepreneurialism, civil society and democracy

Universities which partnered in this project are Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Bristol (UK),Roehampton University (UK), Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (France), Univerza V Ljubljani (Slovenia) and Universidade do Porto (Portugal). There is also a number of associated partners, among which are Times Higher EducationThe Sino-Danish Center in Beijing, the Magna Charta Observatory, the Center for Graduate Education Research at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and others.
"The project has a wide and international scope and is initiated in collaboration with five other European universities and 15 universities from the Pacific Region. The purpose of the project is to establish a global network for researchers, including PhDs and postdocs, which can critically analyse university developments in different parts of the world," says Susan Wright, professor at Aarhus University and head of the project.
The project starts with the academic year 2013.

Studentship Description

Applicants will be considered for the following sources of PhD funding:

Person Specification
Successful candidates will be admitted to the MPhil/PhD programme in
Mathematics (Pure or Applied).

The Teaching Assistantships last for 4 years and will cover tuition
fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of approximately £15,590 per annum
based on the standard EPSRC rate. Teaching Assistants will spend 25%
of their time teaching and the rest devoted to research towards their
PhD.

EPSRC funding will cover tuition fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of
approximately £15,590 per annum based on the standard EPSRC rate.
This is tenable for 3 or 4 years (exact duration to be confirmed).

UCL Graduate Research Scholarships, tenable for 3 years, will cover
tuition fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of approximately £15,590 per
annum based on the standard EPSRC rate.

Overseas Research Scholarships (non EU applications only), tenable for
3 or 4 years, cover the difference in PhD fees between Overseas and
UK/EU rates. Successful candidates may also be nominated for a Dean's
Prize, providing scholarships up to the value of UCL student fees.

Applicants should possess a good honours degree (1st class or 2:1
minimum) in Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification from other
countries.
