All those interested in applying for a XXXth cycle PhD position are required to complete the procedure on Apply by 3 p.m. on Thursday, 28th August 2014. This will allow ScuDo (scudo@polito.it) to ensure its support in the event that some IT problems occur.

If you wish to apply for "Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences""Urban and Regional Development" and "Urban and Regional Development - Technologies for Smart Communities Cluster - Project Zero Energy Consumption Buildings in Smart Urban Districts", we strongly recommend you to submit your application by 3 p.m. of August 28, 2014.

PROCEDURES TO APPLY FOR A PHD POSITION AT POLITECNICO DI TORINO - XXX CYCLE

In order to take part to the competitive examinations, you must hold: 
  • Master's Degree (already obtained or to be obtained by 31/10/2014)

      Will be able to apply:

    • Candidates who obtained a Master's Degree in Italy with a minimum mark of 95/110;

    • Candidates who obtained any other equivalent (second-level) Academic qualification abroad with a minimum average grade as expressed in Appendix 4 of the call for admission;

    • Candidates who will obtain their Master's Degree in Italy by and no later than October 31, 2014, with minimum average grade of 25/30 and minimum degree score of 95/110 (This will be checked at time of enrolment).


    • Those candidates who have been awarded two (or more) second level Degrees, will have to state in Apply@polito.it (after expressing their PhD choice), only the one they want the Commission to take into consideration for the purposes of admission.

  • Certificate of English language proficiency

    • IELTS with a minimum score of 5.0;

    • TOEFL Internet based test with a minimum score of 77, or Computer-based test with a minimum score of 210, or Paper-based test with a minimum score of 547;

    • Cambridge ESOL examinations – General English exams with minimum level PET pass with merit.


    • Alternatively, candidates can prove they own a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree obtained from a University providing training courses in English language, handing in an official declaration issued by the university stating that “The medium of instruction is English”.

      Citizens of countries where one of the official languages is English are also exempted from the submission of the English certificate.

      Application is also open to candidates who will obtain their certificate by and no later than the deadline to enrol to the PhD, as per art. 11 of the call for admission). In this case, conditional admission shall be granted as long as the candidate submits one of the above-mentioned documents during the enrolment procedure; failure to do this would result in the irrevocable loss of the right to enrol.




    TO APPLY FOR THE POLITECNICO DI TORINO public competitive examinations, it is necessary to use the electronic form Apply@polito.

    Candidates who have not graduated at Politecnico di Torino will be asked to provide their biographical information and will then be provided with username and password for accessing the second part of the procedure.

    Applicants who have graduated or are about to graduate at Politecnico di Torino must, instead, access the procedure through Portale della Didattica, using their own credentials (username: Sidnumber - password: date of birth in "ddmmyy" format, or customised password).
    On their personal page they will find a button which will link them directly to the second part of Apply@Polito.it

    Before starting to fill in the second part of the application, please make sure you have all the documents listed in the call (art. 3, par.2 of the call published above)

    You will have to pay a non-refundable processing fee of 30,00€ for every PhD Program you choose; you will be able to pay on-line by credit card (VISA, MasterCard).
    At the end of the registration process, you will find a link which will guide you through the payment process.

    Upon completion the application, once the payment is made,you will be able to see the "SUBMIT" button.
    After clicking on this button, your application will be submitted and it will not be possible to change any of its parts.
    After the deadline (August 28, 2014) all the applications of candidates who have regularly carried out the payment but have not submitted their application yet, will be automatically closed and submitted.We heartly recommend you check all the information entered and the documents attached before submitting your application, as after this moment no further change will be possible.

    PLEASE NOTE: All the candidates who have secured their position will have to enrol by and no later than December 15, 2014.
    Foreign candidates who require a Visa to access Italy, are required to get in touch with the closest Italian Embassy to enquire about timing and procedures to obtain the Italian Social Security Number (Codice Fiscale) and the student visa so as to be able to speed up the procedures once the ranking list is published.


PROCEDURES TO APPLY FOR A PHD POSITION WITHIN THE PROGRAMS JOINTLY ACTIVATED BY POLITECNICO DI TORINO AND UNIVERSITÀ DEGLI STUDI DI TORINO - XXX CYCLE

In order to take part to the competitive examinations, you must hold:

  • Certificate of English language proficiency

    • IELTS with a minimum score of 5.0;

      Candidates who do not have one of the above-mentioned cartificate testifying their knowledge of the English language can apply nonetheless. If they pass the selection they shall be allowed to enrol to the PhD Program as long as they obtain one of these certificates within the first year of the course. Failure to do this, will result in the exclusion from the program.


    Candidates interested in applying for the Interuniversity Call for Admission, will have to fill in the electronic form Apply@polito ONLY if they want to apply for the following PhD Programs:
  • Bioengineering and medical-Surgical Sciences
  • Urban and Regional Development
  • Urban and Regional Development - Technologies for Smart Communities Cluster - Project Zero Energy Consumption Buildings in Smart Urban Districts

    Candidates interested in applying for an Apprenticeship PhD Position, will have to select "posto in apprendistato (Apprenticeship PhD)".
    Please note: Candidates interested in carrying out and Apprenticeship PhD must be younger than 30 years old at the moment when they are taken on by the project partner company.
