Faculty Research Fellowship: a career development post in health and cognate social and natural sciences.
The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southampton is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in the UK. We have three thriving research groups and we are committed to building on our national and international research reputation, and are investing in new posts at every level.
To build on our success we want to appoint a Faculty Research Fellow - in the health sciences and their cognate social and natural science disciplines - to join our research groups and contribute to their development and to new programmes of work. A Faculty Research Fellowship is a career development post that provides an opportunity to develop a personal profile of research and publication while working collaboratively with outstanding researchers in the following area: Cancer, palliative and end-of-life care (one post).
This research career development post is designed to provide an opportunity to develop a personal research plan, gain external funding and publish high quality papers. You will be expected to contribute to teaching in your specialist areas (around 30%). The post is for five years with the expectation that you will become an independent researcher of national/international repute.
You will be working at postdoctoral level and beginning to build a portfolio of publications and grant income. You will receive professorial mentorship, support from expert collaborators within the research groups and access to specialist laboratory and technical facilities (as appropriate).
