78 PhD Studentships in Build Environment at University of Ulster, UK

The University of Ulster is a leading research institution in the built environment. It has been ranked in the top five subject research centres of excellence for 20 years.  It is seeking PhD student applications to commence in September 2014 to join the internationally respected research teams in the School of the Built Environment which is based at the Jordanstown campus, University of Ulster. The research groups have attracted over £12million in research grant funding in the past five years.
Research is overseen by the Built Environment Research Institute (BERI) and is organized into four centres: Research in Property and Planning, Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Hydrogen Safety Engineering and Research and the Fire Safety Engineering Research Technology Centre.
Expertise ranges from fire engineering research, hydrogen safety, energy engineering to land use planning and property performance analysis.  BERI is concerned with the delivery of research that will enhance the quality of the built environment and address the changing needs of society in a more resilient manner.
We welcome the submission of PhD projects by applicants and we also offer a range of PhD opportunities linked with current projects (below).

To be considered for entry, applicants should hold, or expect to hold by 15 August 2014 a first or upper second class honours degree in a subject relevant to the proposed research topic.  Applications for studentships will be considered on a competitive basis with regard to the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and interests.
