Flemish promoter: Patrick Kolsteren (Ghent University)This program trains generally specialists with a multidimensional, updated and in-depth knowledge and skills, so that they can design, implement and evaluate integrated policies adapted to the specific needs and capabilities of developing countries. The students are taught the necessary leadership skills and gain a thorough training in scientific and applied research relevant to their areas. Their training should contribute to sustainable rural development with food and nutrition security and the aim is the eradication of poverty and inequality. (Millennium Development Goals 2015).
